High school actors from around the area converged at 菠萝视频鈥檚 Bartholomew Performing Arts Center on Monday, November 18, to participate in the eighth annual High School One-Act Play Festival.

These high school students perform their one-act plays at competitions around the state throughout November. The festival at 菠萝视频 gave them an opportunity to perform their shows in front of more seasoned actors, who provided feedback for improvement.
鈥淭he one-act festival is a great opportunity to teach both high school and university students about theatre,鈥 said Associate Professor of Communication and Theatre John I. Baker III. 鈥淭he festival allows the 菠萝视频 theatre department to teach our students about running a festival while allowing area high school students the opportunity to perform.鈥

Even though the event was not competitive, the festival named a best actor and actress, as well as some honorable mentions. These actors include:

Those who received an honorable mention also earned a $2,500 theatre department scholarship to 菠萝视频; recipients of the Best Overall Actor and Best Overall Actress awards earned $5,000 scholarships to 菠萝视频.
